Office reception branding: a confident first impression

Dimensional reception lettering, considered finishes and a coordinated installation approach create a confident office arrival.

Dimensional reception branding in an office interior

The reception brief

A reception identity should introduce the organisation without overwhelming the room.

For this project, the starting information includes a scaled logo, a photograph of the wall, viewing distances and the intended arrival route. These details determine the envelope and hierarchy before material samples are compared.

Materials and lighting

Fabricated metal, acrylic and layered flat-cut components offer different edge profiles and visual weight. Samples should be assessed under the actual room lighting rather than selected from a screen alone. If a halo effect is requested, wall colour, stand-off distance and LED colour temperature are separate choices.

The electrical supply, driver location and maintenance access require an agreed specification. An illuminated design is not automatically appropriate for every workplace; an unlit identity can produce a strong result through scale, finish and contrast.

Installation and handover

The wall substrate and concealed services determine the fixing approach. A final artwork proof, setting-out drawing and sample approval provide a clear production reference. Access and working hours are agreed with the building team before installation.
