Your building, with a stronger identity

Architectural signage that belongs.

The best building signs do more than display a logo. They give the façade a focal point, make the entrance easy to find and carry the character of the brand into the space.

We consider the name, architecture and real approach together: what drivers see at distance, what visitors read at the door, and what the material feels like up close. Metal, acrylic, light and shadow become one considered identity.

New development or existing façade? Bring us your elevations, site photographs and artwork. We’ll help shape the sign before the fixing and electrical details are locked in.

Exterior building signs

Give the building a name people can recognise before they reach the door. Individual letters and logos are proportioned to the façade, approach route and viewing distance, with concealed supports planned around the building fabric.

Where it works
Above main entrances, across façades and at key arrival points.
Good for
A permanent address, a stronger brand presence and clear identification from the street.
Our suggestion
Start with scaled elevation visuals. Compare a daytime metal finish with discreet illumination if the building needs to be found after dark.
Materials & specification notes
  • Fabricated aluminium or stainless steel letters and logos
  • Flat-cut or built-up profiles selected around the artwork
  • Cladding support, weather sealing and high-level access reviewed at survey

Architectural signage FAQs.

01What is architectural signage?

Architectural signage is identification and wayfinding designed as part of a building or site. It can include façade letters, entrance signs, reception identities and freestanding directories, coordinated through materials, scale and placement.

02Which material is best for exterior building signs?

There is no single best material. Aluminium, stainless steel and suitable acrylic constructions offer different appearances and maintenance needs. Exposure, sign size, finish, wall construction and budget shape the recommendation; coastal environments need particular attention to metal grade and care.

03Can you coordinate signage across multiple buildings?

Yes. We can develop a consistent sign family while adapting dimensions, support systems and access requirements to each site. Tenant directories can be planned for future updates rather than remaking the whole sign.

04Do building signs need planning permission?

Advertisement consent, landlord approval or listed-building consent may apply depending on location, size, illumination and building status. Check the individual proposal with the relevant authority before manufacture. A site survey does not grant permission.

05Can signs be fitted to cladding or an existing façade?

Potentially, after checking what sits behind the surface. Decorative cladding alone may not provide adequate support. We review fixing locations, supporting structure, weather sealing and installation access with your building team.

06Who connects the illuminated sign to mains electricity?

Sign lighting and drivers are agreed within the sign specification. Your qualified electrician is responsible for the building mains supply, isolation, final connection and required certification; these works are not included unless explicitly agreed separately.

07How much do architectural building signs cost?

The quote depends on size, construction, finish, illumination, support design and access. Share elevations or site photos, approximate dimensions and your target date so we can develop a meaningful proposal rather than an unrepresentative starting price.

08How early should we involve you in a building project?

Ideally before the façade and electrical layouts are finalised. Early coordination allows for supports, cable routes, access and landlord or planning review. Existing buildings can also be surveyed before a signage refresh.
