Not just a box with a light inside

Give your brand
a luminous presence.

The right lightbox is an object people notice in daylight as well as after dark. The grain of the timber, the precision of a metal rim, the depth of a push-through logo and the quality of a backlit image all shape the impression.

We develop custom illuminated signs and displays around the whole setting: how people approach, what they need to read and how your team will update or maintain it. A permanent retail signature or a changeable campaign — not the same box for every brief.

The details behind the impression

Beautiful on the outside.
Thought through within.

01

A face that reads beautifully

Opaque cut-out identity, translucent acrylic or backlit fabric each handles light differently. We consider contrast, fine detail and a lit artwork sample before choosing a construction.

02

A cabinet that belongs

Metal finish, timber grain, frame width and depth connect the object to its surroundings. Minimal edge does not mean minimal thought: diffusion, rigidity and access still have to work.

03

A display with a next chapter

Plan removable faces, replacement graphics and accessible drivers before manufacture. Seasonal campaigns and maintenance should not require dismantling the surrounding fit-out.

Bespoke lightbox FAQs.

01Which lightbox is right for a retail shop or restaurant?

For a permanent identity, consider a metal/acrylic cabinet or a fret-cut face. For frequently changing retail imagery, SEG fabric can make graphic replacement practical. Restaurants may need a timber brand feature, a lockable menu case or a double-sided hanging sign. We start with the purpose and location rather than treating all lightboxes as the same product.

02Can you make wooden, metal, rimmed and rimless lightboxes?

Yes, subject to the brief and construction review. Visible metal or timber frames, translucent acrylic faces, fret-cut and push-through details, and minimal-edge fabric systems offer different appearances. Rimless describes a specific face detail: it does not mean the box has no structure.

03Can a lightbox hang from the ceiling or stand on the floor?

Wall, suspended and freestanding formats can be specified. A hanging unit needs suitable structural supports, clearance and power access. A freestanding display needs stable feet or an engineered base and a safe cable route. Both can be single- or double-sided where the design permits.

04Are all lightboxes suitable for outdoors?

No. Outdoor suitability is agreed for the complete enclosure, electrical components, cable entries, face seals and installation. A timber finish or an IP-rated LED module does not establish the rating of the entire sign. Exposure, drainage, wind and servicing need review.

05Can we change the menus or campaign graphics ourselves?

We can plan replaceable graphics, opening faces or lockable menu access. SEG graphics must match the frame dimensions and silicone-edge specification. Backlit graphics need suitable print media; a front-lit menu case can use ordinary paper. We confirm the update method and artwork template.

06What size and cabinet depth can you make?

Dimensions depend on the material, frame system, face size, lighting method, transport and site access. Very large lightboxes may require modular construction or on-site assembly. Depth affects light diffusion and service access, so we do not promise every size in one universal slim profile.

07Which LED white colour should I choose?

Warm 2700–3000K often complements hospitality and timber; neutral 4000K can suit a crisp brand identity. Cooler white can be useful for some graphics but is not automatically brighter or better. A lit sample with your artwork and finishes is more reliable than a screen preview.

08Who connects the electrics, and can the lightbox be dimmed?

The agreed sign scope can include low-voltage LEDs, drivers and internal wiring. Your qualified electrician is responsible for the building mains supply, isolation, final mains connection and certification. Dimming needs compatible LEDs, drivers and controls agreed before manufacture.

09Do illuminated signs need permission?

Advertisement consent, landlord approval or listed-building consent may apply to exterior signs, depending on the site. Brightness, operating hours and position may be conditioned. We review the project requirements rather than assuming an existing nearby sign establishes permission.

10What do you need for a bespoke lightbox quote?

Share your logo or graphic, approximate dimensions, location, number of units, preferred casing, mounting method and target date. Include wall or ceiling photographs and tell us about power, exposure, access, graphic updates and any venue or landlord rules.
