A better angle on your brand
The sign that meets people before the entrance.
A beautiful fascia can disappear when viewed along a busy street. A projecting shop sign turns your identity towards the people walking past — giving your frontage a recognisable silhouette from either direction.
We consider the whole composition: how the blade sits against the building, the profile of the bracket, the finish of the edge and the relationship to your fascia, windows and interior. One considered detail, not another competing logo.

Circular projecting signs
A circular sign turns a compact brand mark into a recognisable street-level object. A fabricated rim and a restrained bracket give the sign substance without competing with the architecture.
- Where it works
- Beside the entrance, facing the approach along the pavement in both directions.
- Good for
- Simple monograms, distinctive symbols and brands that need a quieter, material-led presence.
- Our suggestion
- Keep the artwork short, coordinate the edge finish with your door furniture and approve both faces at full size.
Materials & specification notes
- Fabricated aluminium body with a powder-coated or specified metal-effect finish.
- Opaque applied or raised identity; illumination is a separately specified option.
- Bracket, wall substrate, projection and exposed wind loads reviewed together.
From beautiful object to working sign
Every edge. Every angle. Considered.
01
A finish that belongs
Powder-coated aluminium, specified metal finishes and approved physical samples connect the sign to your frontage. Material choice reflects exposure, weight, cleaning and the desired ageing.
02
Artwork that reads
Short names and clear symbols work harder than crowded copy. Both faces need correct orientation, deliberate contrast and a full-size review from the intended viewing distance.
03
A bracket with purpose
Projection creates leverage on the wall. Brackets, fixings and the actual load-bearing substrate are assessed together, with engineering input where required and service access planned in.
Where, when & why
A considered presence for the places people seek out.
Flagship retail & boutiques
At the shop entrance, where pedestrians approach along the street. A clean circular or slim blade can echo the fascia and window identity without covering the architecture.

Projecting & blade sign FAQs.
01What is the difference between a blade sign and a fascia?
A fascia is mainly read head-on from across the street. A projecting or blade sign sits perpendicular to the building so people approaching along the pavement can see your identity. They work particularly well as a coordinated pair.
02Do projecting signs need planning permission?
Advertisement consent may be required, depending on the sign and location. Listed building consent, landlord permission and highway or oversail approval may also apply. Requirements are authority- and site-specific; do not assume another shop’s sign establishes permission for yours.
03How far can a sign project, and how high should it be?
There is no single dimension suitable for every UK site. We review the pavement, pedestrian and vehicle routes, frontage, local authority requirements and proposed sign before agreeing projection and clearance.
04Can you fix to stone, brick, render or cladding?
The visible finish is not necessarily the load-bearing structure. A survey identifies the substrate behind it, the wall condition and a suitable load path. Weak masonry, cladding or an unknown wall may need a supporting structure or an alternative position.
05Can the sign illuminate on both sides?
Yes, subject to the artwork and construction. Options include translucent illuminated faces and fret-cut or push-through details in an opaque cabinet. LED tone, brightness, cable routing and servicing access are specified for the setting.
06Who provides the electrical connection?
Our agreed scope can include the sign’s low-voltage LEDs, drivers and internal wiring. The client’s qualified electrician provides the building mains supply, safe isolation, final mains connection and required certification. Responsibilities are agreed before installation.
07Can you coordinate the whole frontage or multiple sites?
We can develop the projecting sign alongside fascia lettering, window graphics, entrance details and interior signage. For a rollout, each building still needs its own dimensions, fixing review and approvals, with shared artwork and finish standards.
08What do you need to prepare a quote?
Send your logo, frontage photographs, site address, approximate sign size, preferred style and timing. Tell us about landlord restrictions, listed status, public pavement projection, power availability and access. We confirm the survey and specification needed before production.
